Well, I have finally put up some good pictures from my last port visit (Marmaris, Turkey)...and I have to say, I'm astounded by the feedback I have gotten. I have gotten so many 's and great comments. With the extremely slow internet I have to put up with while I finish out this deployment...it would be painful for me to have to go through and individually thank everyone for the 's, so I'm going to thank you all here. I truly mean it. It means a lot to me.

I hope you guys aren't offended if I just sort of "mass thank you" here. I also want to say thank you to all my watchers out there. I know I have been sort of absent on dA lately, so thank you for not abandoning me and continuing to give me the support and friendship that you have in the past.

I am really pleased with my progression as a....dare I say it.... a photographer. I can definitely see an improvement in my art from the beginning of this deployment when I joined up on dA and now. I have tried a handful of different art mediums and I'm happy to say that I've settled on one that I think I can truly shine in. I love being able to capture a moment in time the way I see it, and share it with the world. The stories that a photo can tell are limitless. I've always had a terrible memory, but with photography, it's a physical memory that I can hang on to for years to come. I really can't wait to get home and go on some photography adventures with my wife.

I also got to take two more (scuba) dives in Turkey. Diving is becoming very addicting. I can't even describe what the feeling is like. If any of you ever the opportunity to go scuba diving...take my word for it and go! I was a little intimidated after my first dive, but it's really easy and very relaxing.

Well, tomorrow is my birthday... It really doesn't feel like it though. I'm going to be 25. We were supposed to be pulling into a port tomorrow, but due to operational commitments, we are needed elsewhere, so we aren't. No biggie I guess. I'm just going to treat it like any other day. Anyway, I still have more photos to put up, so I'm going to battle this slow internet and try and get them up...so for now I leave you with this thought:
